The real problem with the blonde haircut, besides the length, is that it's not really "styled". It's like she chopped it, went to sleep, got up and walked out with it looking like that.
I do prefer longer hair. But I've seen short haircuts that work. Generally speaking, it's not on white girls. In fact the only ones I can recollect are Nana Visitor and Chase Masterson - and even there, they both look even better with long hair.
I believe to have blonde short hair takes big ones as a woman. We all know men (and some women) prefer long blonde hair. The rude comments can be shocking, I like to think as adults we learned as children "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" seems some have forgotten this - It is only hair, as a young woman she is trying to figure out what she wants-including anything to do with her hair. IT WILL GROW BACK IF THAT IS WHAT SHE WANTS. On another note, I have to say after looking through the slide show Natalie Portman looks stunning with short hair.
I thought about that...but I realize this is my own personal opinion. I don't speak for all men.
I just have never seen the pixie cut work on any woman in my opinion. Chin-length looks good, longer of course looks great. The really short cut doesn't scream "contemporary" or "fashionable" to me. It more or less screams "unfeminine". I feel like those beautiful women now look like little boys.
AGAIN...bear in mind this is just a personal opinion. I don't speak for all men out there and a woman should not feel threatened or offended by my opinion. If she wants to take a chance and chop it off, go for it.
